Rochester Hills tops in deer wrecks (Detroit Free Press)

Rochester Hills, southeast Michigan's perennial champ in car-deer crashes, was tops again in 2007, and Debrah Zatina can understand why. She fatally nailed a deer that darted in front of her Jeep Wrangler Sept. 21 on Tienken near Rochester Road. Zatina wasn't injured, but her Jeep sustained hundreds of dollars in damage.

A parking permit was stolen from a student’s vehicle on Cherry Lane, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The complainant, a 21-year-old student, said she parked her gray 2005 Jeep Cherokee outside between 11:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and 12:30 a.m. Sept. 19.

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Police in Vancouver were investigating a crash that left a12-year-old boy and two drivers in the hospital. Vancouver investigators said it happened at 7th St and 136th Avenue when a Jeep driven by 54-year-old Edward Cook rolled up onto the sidewalk and hit the boy.

Man dies in early morning crash in Roxbury (Republican-American)

A New Milford man was killed early this morning in a single-car crash in Roxbury. State police report that William Slupatchuk, 49, of 10 Maple Drive, was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee west on Route 67 near Rucum Road when his car drifted across the eastbound lane and struck a tree. Trooper Thomas F. Blake of Troop A reported that a paramedic found Slupatchuk dead at the scene.
